William Burroughs claimed that "when you experiment with cut-ups... some of the cut-ups... seem to refer to future events." Well, here is that future event. Like a 21st century musical cousin of James Joyce on acid, Montreal-based Marc Leclair arranges tiny fractions of sounds captured mostly from radio into structures that are incredibly complex but still so groovy that you just have to dance. He calls the technique "microsampling" and passionately refers to the process of recycling, to give new life to old dead frequencies. Amen to that.
