Madonna (1998)

At the time I was excited about this one. Not so much because I was working with Madonna, but because I was getting to do something which people would see, after a long time of doing stuff no one saw. The biggest problem I had with that video was motion control; I decided to shoot some motion control in the desert, which was very stupid because it always goes wrong. I think I ended up having a four-day shoot reduced to two days because of technical difficulties, so I ended up getting about four hours sleep a night and drinking lots and lots of coffee. I love Darius Khondji [who shot Seven for David Fincher as well as Afrika Shox]. His technical abilities are a given, but he also has a great attitude, which is the most important thing to me. He also has this amazing passion; it was like working/playing with another child.
