RES Screening (May 2004)

The Editors

For our May screening event, Daniel Askill joins us from Australia to present the U.S. premiere of his music video for vocalist Sia (Jamiroquai, Zero 7, Massive Attack) as well as his award-winning short film We Have Decided Not to Die.

To celebrate the MVPA Awards we will present a special panel discussion, Meet the Commissioners. This is a rare chance to hear from the people who pair directors with bands. Each guest will screen and discuss a video that turned out great but had the potential to be a nightmare. Guests include Kate Miller (Capitol Records), Devin Sarno (Warner Bros.) and from the UK, Richard Skinner (EastWest) and John Hassay (Col. Blimp).

Also screening: the uncensored director's cut of Lenny Kravitz's "Where Are We Running," Michel Gondry's latest masterpiece for Michael Andrews and Gary Jules' "Mad World" and Chris Hopewell's new video for Blonde Redhead, among others.

See breaking new work on the big screen, hear from special guests in attendance and join us for a drink following the screening.

A NOTE ON THE FUTURE OF RES

RES magazine's milestone RESFEST tenth anniversary issue will be the last issue published in 2006. We plan to launch a new hybrid RES publication in 2007, one that will transform this site into a dynamic, daily online destination, while fully integrating all of our content across the multiple platforms of print, Web, DVD and events. Please contact general@res.com with any questions, and watch this space for further updates in the new year.
